Aah, Saturday! It's about 8:30 AM in Virginia. It's a bright and sunny spring day. You can hear
the chirp of the songbirds outside, and maybe even some cicadas! You get up, move from bedroom
to living room to kitchen and find your mother. She's in her classic floral patterned robe when
the sweet and inviting aroma hits your nose. She's making muffins! She asks if you want to help
and you excitedly say yes. She excuses herself into the computer room next to the kitchen and
puts on a mix CD dad made for her one day. Love Shack by the B-52's starts playing as you ask if
you can lick the spoon. She says no because there's raw egg in it. Later, you play some RuneScape
and stare out the computer room window. You see green grass and the morning light breaking through
a rose bush next to the gate to the backyard. The greenness of the vegetation almost seems surreal
and you think about going to ride bikes at a park one town over. One day you'll look back at these
days and wish things were still a lot less clear to you compared to how they are now.
Maybe one day.
